What's in a name?

In William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" Act 2 Scene 2, Juliet asked "What's in a name?".

People have quizzed us about our name.

Some Latin scholars might say it is the translation of Chemicals into Latin, and they're correct.

Others might say it is is related to the classification of chemicals, similar to the Kingdom of Animalia in the classification of the Zoological hierarchy.

Others might say it is a synthetic word  suggesting that Chemicalia is involved in Chemicals in Australia.

It all depends on your perspective!
